God must be rethought, sought after, and if it cannot be found... what then?
"You must believe in God, your soul is in peril if you don't".
"Prove God does not exist".
"You are a lost soul"
"You are deceived"
Quick answers:
1. Is my soul in peril any less than yours is? I mean, you too are atheistic to many thousands of gods that you do not worship. Have you bothered to read about the peril awaiting your soul?
2. Do I "prove" god does not exist, or do you prove God does? Can you explain the confusion found in religion? More unlikely is the task to "prove" that a god does, in fact, exist. I'll not say that God does not exist, but I am comfortable in not knowing either way.
3. But I've found the very key to happiness. Being a lost soul is all relative. Theists are lost souls in one format or another. The Muslim knows the Christian is just as lost as the Christian knows the Muslim is. Where does the finger pointing and chest puffing end?
4. How am I deceived and you are not? If you are Catholic, and you do not embrace Islam, why are you not deceived about Islam? If you are Pentecostal and you do not embrace Mormonism, why are you not deceived about Mormonism? Scientology? Snake handling cults? Eckankar? If you are not a believer of any of these religions, there are millions of humans who know YOU are the deceived one, not them.
"Well, that is fine but what can you prove? You can't prove you are right!!"
Well? What can I prove? Hmm. Good question. I think I will write it all down. Please fasten zip ties around your ankles because this might just blow your socks off.
1. I can prove to you, without question, that there are thousands of variant fractional sects and denominations stemming from one man named Jesus' central message. I can prove that many of these fractured sects completely disagree, vehemently, with their counterparts in religious doctrine.
2. I can prove that many of these sects believe that other people who also believe in this same Jesus figure are going to roast in hell for eternity because those people do not happen to believe in this Jesus figure exactly like they do about a certain doctrine or two or nine.
3. I can prove that Christianity is not the only religion that thinks that they are the only group of people who have "god's truth". There are many non Christian religions who also claim exclusivity.
4. I can prove to you that if you do not believe ardently in Islam when you die as a christian, the Muslim faith believes that you will roast in eternity wearing a skin of molten lava. If you are a Christian, I can prove that you believe something similar to this with regard to the fate of the Muslim.
Therefore, per above, I have shown that religion is a jumbled mess of confusion. Religion is so confusing, in fact, that no one seems to be able to find a common general consensus pertaining to how, exactly, a human soul is saved or if it is even necessary for it to be saved. Also, please consider what factors determine how a human will ardently believe, to his death, about god is directly linked to his/her geographical location of birth and intrinsically linked to what their parents believe.... and NOT linked to any sort of rational data set or formula or scientific means of observation.
"Since you are agnostic/ atheist, how can you prove that any God does not exist? "
This is a standard theist trap. Since the theist asserts that a god indeed exists, let him be the one to prove the existance outright first. Whatever measures are taken to prove this will be immediately hounded, discarded, set at naught, eschewed, reprimanded, and villified by the very next theist in some other religion to prove that THEIR particular variant version of god.
It's sad. I admit it. But if there was a God, he did a poor job in communicating to the world who he is, what he wants from us, and why we should worship him.
